I've been working on developing a more impressionist approach to some of my artwork. Here I'm creating Scottish landscapes by combining oil paints with sand, grit, earth, stones, wood etc on canvas boards.
Every painting contains the very fabric of the scene it is depicting and a small amount of Scotland hangs in every painting.
I live in a small town on the south coast of Scotland and I'm a keen walker who spends alot of time outside looking for good spots to paint and taking photographs of locations. This painting was inspired by (and contains small amounts of) Powfoot Beach. I'm currently working on the second of this series and hope to complete many more this year as lockdown eases.
